On this week's XpertHR Weekly, we discuss the difficulties that transgender
men and women can experience at work and how to create an inclusive workplace
for them, including how to support an employee who is transitioning. We
also provide practical guidance on paying an employee in lieu of his or her
notice period, including: when it might be appropriate to make such a payment;
the relevance of whether or not there is a payment in lieu of notice clause in
the employee's contract; and what should be covered by the payment, including
how to deal with benefits in kind.
