Employment law manual update: new atypical workers chapter

The XpertHR employment law manual has been enhanced by the addition of a new chapter on atypical workers. 

• All existing reference manual content on atypical workers has been moved into a new chapter so that it is easier to access. This content was previously in the Employee rights chapter. There are separate sections on agency workers, part-time workers, temporary workers, posted workers and key differences in Scotland and Northern Ireland relating to atypical workers. 

We have also made changes to the sections in the atypical workers chapter to reflect changes that we will be making to the overall format of the employment law manual. We have added links to additional resources, such as relevant frequently asked questions, policies and documents and other useful XpertHR guidance, at the end of each subsection. This is to give subscribers easy access to further information relating to the specific subject being researched. For example, in the new section on part-time workers, at the end of the subsection on the Part-time Workers (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2000 overview, we have added, among others, links to a model policy for operating part-time working and our line manager briefing on part-time workers.
