Podcast: Race victimisation; and myths around redundancy and contracts of employment

TOPICS:
contracts of employment formation of the employment contract
equal opportunities race
termination of employment redundancy

On this week's XpertHR Weekly, we discuss the well-publicised employment tribunal decision in McCammon v Gillingham Football Club and another ET/1100815/2011, which involved a claim for race victimisation in the unusual context of professional football. We also discuss some popular employment law myths around redundancy and contracts of employment, including those relating to: offering an employee who has been made redundant future vacancies that arise shortly after his or her dismissal; making an employee who is pregnant or on maternity leave redundant; and withdrawing a job offer.

Presenter Jeya Thiruchelvam is joined by Stephen Simpson and Clio Springer. Edited and produced by Jeya Thiruchelvam.
