Policy wording: During an employee's first year with the Company, unless otherwise agreed with the employee's [department head], the employee will not normally be allowed to take more holiday than he/she has accrued at any one time.

If it has been agreed in writing at the time of the employee's recruitment that the Company will honour a pre-existing holiday commitment, then the employee will be permitted to take the holiday.
