Clause wording: If the employee is absent from work owing to sickness or injury he/she must comply with the following procedures. Payment of sick pay and/or statutory sick pay will be made only where such procedures have been followed:

  • On the first day of absence, the employee must ensure that the manager in charge of the employee's [section/department] is notified as early as possible of the employee's absence, the reason for the absence and how long the employee expects to remain absent.
