Clause wording: The following invention [ ] made by the employee prior to the date of this agreement shall continue to be owned by the employee, not withstanding any other provision of this agreement, but may be used by the employer in the course of its business for the duration of this agreement on a royalty free basis.

When to use this document

Use this clause in an employment contract where the employee wishes to retain ownership of some invention made by him or her before commencement of work for the company.
