SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS
Occupational Pensions has, as usual, been monitoring
court and tribunal cases dealing with pensions and retirement, and has
identified a total of 66 relevant cases from the end of 2000 to early December
2001.
There were three major cases on fund surpluses: with
judgments from the House of Lords on National Grid, the Privy Council on
a New Zealand case and the High Court concerning a British Airways'
scheme.
