Unfair dismissal basic award

The unfair dismissal basic award compensates employees for loss of job security. The amount payable depends on the employee's age and length of service and the amount of a week's pay1

Maximum basic award £13,500
Minimum basic award in trade union, health and safety, employee representative and pension scheme trustee cases £5,500

1 From 1 February 2013 the maximum amount of a week's pay is £450 (prior limit £430).
