Where once there were separate sick-pay schemes, usually for managers and other grades, now one-size-fits-all arrangements are most common, according to our research into sick pay published in this issue. The legacy of the trend to harmonise terms and conditions in the 1980s shows itself in our finding that almost 60% of employers have a single scheme for all staff.
