Adoption leave

What is it?
The minimum entitlement to time off work for employees on adoption leave.

How much can an individual get?
An employee who has adopted a child, or who is one of a couple who have jointly adopted a child, and who has been continuously employed for 26 or more weeks by the end of the week in which he or she is notified of being matched with a child for adoption is entitled to the following:

Ordinary adoption leave 26 weeks
Additional adoption leave 26 weeks (following on immediately from ordinary adoption leave)

Current rates effective from: 6 April 2003.
