Policy wording: The Company operates a staff suggestion scheme, the purpose of which is to encourage staff [at operational grades] to put forward suggestions as to:

  • how the Company's operational practices could be improved;
  • how any of the Company's products could be redesigned, produced more efficiently or economically, or otherwise improved, for example in terms of quality or reduction in waste;
  • any area of production in which costs could be cut without any adverse impact on quality;
  • how the Company's service to its customers/clients could be enhanced;

  • ways in which internal policies and/or procedures could be rewritten or improved, and the reasons why the suggested changes would represent benefits;
  • different methods of performing defined tasks that would be more effective or efficient than current methods;

  • areas in which duplication of work or effort has been identified and could be removed without adverse effect on quality;
  • any other area of the Company's business in which improvements could possibly be made.

Suggestions from staff should be put in writing using the heading 'staff suggestion scheme', signed and dated and sent to [name of nominated senior person].
