A new guide from the CIPD suggests that organisations need to be proactive in helping employees with mental health problems keep their jobs.

Employers must not wait until an employee with a mental health problem goes off on long-term sick leave before offering support and possible referral, according to a new guide1 from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
