NHS does not help absence management, say employers

Over three-quarters of employers think that the NHS is not operating in a way that provides them with adequate support to manage sickness absence, according to a recent survey of 600 senior HR professionals by healthcare company HSA1.

Employers are pessimistic about the future health of employees - over one-third see the health of the UK workforce deteriorating in the next five to 10 years and, of those, 87% feel the workforce's morale and productivity will be badly affected as a result.
