Government finalises illegal working codes of practice


The Government has published the final versions of its codes of practice on civil penalties for employing illegal workers and avoiding discrimination when preventing illegal working, while the points-based immigration system begins to roll out from 29 February 2008.

The Government is introducing civil penalties for employers of illegal migrant workers and the first Code of Practice sets out how the level of penalty will be determined, depending on the level of non-compliance or illegal behaviour.
