Government delays centralised vetting system


The government has announced that the launch of the Independent Safeguarding Authority, the body that will administer the new centralised vetting system for people working with children and vulnerable adults, has been delayed until October 2009.

The government originally planned to introduce the single list of people banned from working with children and vulnerable adults in autumn 2008.
