CIPD forecasts "dramatic falls in pay growth"

The first half of 2009 will see "dramatic falls in pay growth" as the economic downturn hits the UK labour market hard, according to research from the CIPD and consultant KPMG1.

The findings on pay intentions are based on responses from 892 UK employers, conducted between 4 December 2008 and 2 January 2009, and focus on pay reviews settling over the six months between December 2008 and May 2009.
