Paternity leave changes: tell us how you are getting ready

At present statutory paternity leave is limited to one or two weeks' leave. Changes to the law to allow fathers to benefit from up to six months' additional paternity leave will take effect from April 2010 and be available to parents of children due from April 2011. The Government estimates that 4% to 8% of fathers will take up the new right. Take part in our survey to find out the current take-up rate for paternity leave, and what employers are offering beyond the statutory minimum.

Completing this brief IRS survey, which also covers adoption leave, will entitle you to a free copy of the report containing:

  • a picture of how many UK employers offer paternity and adoption leave beyond the statutory minimum;
  • data on paternity and adoption leave take-up; and
  • HR views on the benefits and pitfalls of offering extended paternity leave.

To be part of our research, you must complete the survey by 14 December 2009

If you have any queries about this research, please do not hesitate to email Charlotte Wolff or call 020 8652 2252 (direct line). Or, if you are experiencing any difficulties accessing or completing the survey then please email Katey Ward or call 020 8652 2246 (direct line).
