Paternity and adoption leave: the 2010 IRS survey


IRS research into paternity leave finds that, although half the organisations enhance paternity leave beyond the statutory minimum, partners are still reluctant to take paternity leave, especially if the enhanced wage falls short of full pay. 

  • Paternity and adoption leave: the 2010 IRS survey An average 2.7% of employees at each organisation took paternity leave over the past two years - at six in 10 (59%) of the 103 organisations employees are reluctant to take paternity leave due to the reduction in pay, and at half (46%) partners are nervous to use flexible working for fear it will affect their job prospects.
