The latest recruitment campaign by trade union Unison could see public sector negotiators starting to feel a little nervous. The campaign, launched this summer and backed by a range of products to support 'face-to-face recruitment efforts', has borrowed heavily from the animal kingdom.
The 'tough but caring' campaign features lions and tigers alternately snarling and growling or cooing over their cubs. These depictions of the opposite extremes of animal emotions are designed to demonstrate that a union of 1.3 million members can be both strong with employers, yet caring with their members.
According to the union's website, the campaign serves to...
illustrate how the union is tough but caring - demonstrating the qualities and protection that public sector workers need in the modern workplace.
Also featured is what appears to be a Grizzly, being both big and strong and then friendly and approachable. At least it looks like a Grizzly, but it could be a bipolar bear.
