Just how 'green' are your employee benefits offerings?

As environmental concerns move up the agenda for employers and employees, we're interested to hear whether your organisation is taking steps to provide 'green' benefits options.

Last year, our annual benefits and allowances survey found that 'green' travel arrangements were starting to move up the business agenda in parallel with growing environmental awareness among the general public. Bicycle schemes looked set to represent a key area of expansion, while some respondents were keen to promote carbon-neutral options for business journeys, such as train travel.

It will be fascinating to see how things have changed over the subsequent year. Two recent studies include encouraging findings on UK employers' commitment to 'green' benefits:

· The CIPD's 2008 reward management survey, (subscription required) found that more than one-third (38%) of respondents have reviewed reward policies - predominantly focusing on benefits - to ensure that they support organisational environmental strategy.

· An Energy Saving Trust survey (PDF format, 2.74 MB, external website) looking at the business case for greener company car fleets argues that: "2008 could see the tipping point in which offering – and choosing – low emitting cars is seen to be the only sensible business option."

Taking part in our 2008 survey of benefits and allowances entitles you to a free copy of the resulting reports - enabling you to benchmark your organisation's employee benefits against more than 200 other organisations. You will also be given instant access to the 2007 benefits and allowances reports.
