IRS pay data make the headlines

IRS pay data published today - showing that pay awards have moved ahead of inflation for the first time in more than two and a half years (subscription required) - have generated an extraordinary level of media coverage, across new and more traditional media.

IRS Pay and Benefits Bulletin editor Sheila Attwood has given a round of interviews to interested parties, so far clocking up appearances today on BBC Radio 5 Live's Wake Up to Money programme (available to hear via the miracle of the BBC's iPlayer service (external website) - the interview starts at precisely 23 minutes and 57 seconds in), BBC Radio 4 and Sky News Radio.

Our pay data also received coverage from a wide range of national newspapers, including the following (external websites one and all): The Guardian; Daily Express; Daily Star; Metro; and the Evening Standard.

Online coverage includes the following (each an external website): Ananova; AOL; MSN; Virgin Media; and Yahoo.

A number of TV stations ran reports, including (external websites): Channel 4; and Sky.

We have also received literally hundreds of articles from local newspapers throughout the UK. See all these by running the following saved Google search (external website).
