What’s the hourly rate that London businesses need to be paying their employees for them to have “a minimum acceptable quality of life”? London mayor, Boris Johnson, has raised the London “living wage” to £7.60 an hour, according to the Guardian. Although he has no powers to impose this minimum rate on businesses, Johnson stressed that it is not only “morally right” to pay it, but also good for companies keen to retain a motivated and productive workforce.
