Boss jailed for lying to employment tribunal

A company boss has been jailed for forging a contract of employment and a warning letter after a former employee accused him of sexual harassment, reports the BBC website.

Jason Robinson, the boss of a car hire firm in Falkirk, was brought to an employment tribunal by Susan Moffat for allegedly making unwanted advances towards her. She also claimed that she was paid in cash and had never been given a contract of employment. In the employment tribunal, Mr Robinson presented a contract of employment and a written warning that Mrs Moffat denied she had ever seen.

An employment tribunal awarded Mrs Moffat £29,500 and tipped off the police about the forgeries. Mr Robinson was prosecuted and jailed for four months for perverting the course of justice.
