Two hundred and five of the 3,808 judges in the UK are freemasons. We know this because applicants to the judiciary are required to declare if they are part of the fraternal organisation. However, as a result of Jack Straw's decision earlier this month, applicants will no longer be forced to divulge their masonic connections. Read more on the telegraph website. What do you think? Should judges be forced to disclose their masonic connections?

Why should they have to declare? Are they expected to declare is they belong to a Golf club, or attended the "old boys network" at Eton? Do they have to declare if they are members of the Rotary Club or Lions?
