Workplace lottery syndicate wins £45.5m

Hewlett Packard is facing an unusual problem after seven IT workers in a Liverpool office won over £6m each in their workplace EuroMillions syndicate. The workers are said to have immediately resigned en masse after the news was broken to them.

Quite apart from having to deal with a mass resignation and lots of publicity, let's hope that the employer provides counselling, as an eighth worker who had recently dropped out of the syndicate to save money missed out on the windfall.

The Daily Telegraph website has more on the identities of the winners.
