The Department for Work and Pensions has published some of the key employment-related statutory rates for April 2010, including statutory maternity pay (SMP), statutory adoption pay (SAP), statutory paternity pay (SPP) and statutory sick pay (SSP).
Under the proposed new rates (PDF format, 207K) (on the DWP website), the standard rates of statutory maternity, paternity and adoption pay will increase from £123.06 to £124.88 per week from 4 April 2010.
Unusually, SSP, which normally increases on 6 April, will stay the same. It will continue at the rate of £79.15 per week in 2010.
