Harassed female soldier wins compensation (on the Independent website) A female soldier who claimed she suffered psychiatric injury because of harassment by colleagues has been awarded £6,983.

Sick employee entitled to carry over holiday (on the Personnel Today website) The employment tribunal held that an employee who had booked four weeks' holiday that he was unable to take due to illness was entitled to carry over his holiday into the next leave year, even though in practice he had already been paid for it while on sick leave.

Police officer loses race discrimination claim (on the BBC website) An officer in the Metropolitan Police has lost his race discrimination claim.

Sacked Ealing council worker wins compensation (on the Ealing Gazette website) A local government employee who had an unblemished 25-year record was unfairly sacked after becoming the "scapegoat" for a high risk and loss-making housing scheme.

Ban for driver recruitment firm's directors (on the Road Transport website) The directors of an HGV driver recruitment firm have been banned from running an employment agency for up to 10 years.

Dismissed doctor Shirine Boardman loses at employment tribunal (on the Leamington Courier website) A "brilliant" consultant who helped set up a clinic specialising in diabetes treatment has lost her claim for unfair dismissal.

Staff win fight over zero-hours contract (on the This Is Grimsby website) Staff at a Stallingborough car logistics company have won a legal battle over the introduction of zero-hours contracts.
