Assessment centres: well worth the money

Assessment centres have a reputation as a highly effective, but costly, selection technique. New XpertHR research finds that three-quarters of respondents believe that their investment in the use of assessment centres is fully justified. We also found that the average cost of running an assessment centre is £311 per candidate but one or two employers pitch the cost as high as £1,500 or even £2,000. The findings show that, not surprisingly given their cost, assessment centres tend to be used for high-value roles such as senior management and graduates. The typical length of an assessment centre is one day.
