2013 sees Robocop get the Hollywood "reboot"/remake treatment (with Hugh Laurie rumoured to be portraying the villain of the piece).
The first 'viral' video trailer for the new-look Robocop promises us that he will be coming from the place "where human resources meets robotic engineering."

OK, so perhaps they're not really suggesting that the new look Robocop will be part of the HR department.
But we don't yet know that for sure...
Robocop could yet join the proud list of portrayals of HR.
Let's just hope he doesn't share Dirty Harry Callahan's view of life in HR...
UPDATE 1 (Tuesday 10 July 2012): Dwane Lay highlights a recent HR movie!
Venerable US HR blogging gent Dwane Lay has just got in touch with me via Twitter to highlight an HR-related film of recent vintage - to wit, The Human Resources Manager.
However, if the IMDB plot summary is anything to go by, this may not count as HR's first ever action flick: "A tragi-comedy centered on the HR manager of Israel's largest industrial bakery, who sets out to save the reputation of his business and prevent the publication of a defamatory article."

Not action, to be sure. But it belongs on the "HR in media" list, I think!
Also, there will never be a Robocop other than Peter Weller. Period. End of discussion. Good night.
