#HRTechConf 2012: What's on the #HRTechConf agenda?

ChicagoSkyline.JPG
The main event in the HR technology calendar - the 2012 HR Technology Conference (aka #HRTechConf) kicks off in Chicago, Illinois today (Monday 8 October 2012), and runs through to the end of Wednesday 10 October 2012.
So what's on the agenda for #HRTechConf 2012? And what are likely to be the highlights?

#HRTechConf: 'No sales crap allowed'
Talk, talk, talk and listen, listen, listen.
This is among Naomi Bloom's top 10 tips (plus bonus tip) for getting the most out of #HRTechConf.

Naomi also advises the following:
Attend as many sessions as possible. I do because they're excellent, and there's NO sales crap allowed.

Here are just three of the many highlights from the #HRTechConf 2012 agenda:
  • Bringing HR Into The Cloud
    Tuesday 9 October 2012, 8.45am to 10am
Naomi Bloom moderates a panel discussion with six leading HR technology experts on "getting the full business benefits of the cloud" for HR.
  • Rethinking The Cloud In Human Terms
    Monday 8 October 2012, 8.45am to 10am
Author Tom Koulopoulos presents the opening keynote address. According to the #HRTechConf agenda, " Tom will explore what The Cloud really is and what it means for today's employers. And why taking the human element into account as you shape and execute your HR technology strategy matters more than ever."
Koulopoulos tellTs the searchFinancialApplications site that "the trend I'm going to talk about, which I see as a defining one, is this back end of HR. What happens after the exit interview -- that last day a person is on the job? The answer has typically been they're going to get another job and then they're someone else's HR responsibility."
  • How HR Can Drive The New Social Business
    Wednesday 10 October 2012, 10.30am to 11.30am
In the closing keynote speech, author Marcia Conner argues that "HR leaders are in the catbird seat [i.e. in an enviable position] to demonstrate how people and organizations can be business-minded and interconnected at the same time."

HR analytics: A hot topic for #HRTechConf 2012?
HR analytics will also be a hot topic at this year's #HRTechConf, says Bersin & Associates CEO Josh Bersin. The searchFinancialApplications reports that Bersin says:
HR as a business area is [lagging] behind marketing, sales and supply chain in terms of analytics, but the amount of data is huge. Lots of the talent management companies are releasing analytics tools that will allow you to instantly look at your workforce.
