About the Authors: Jo Doonar (XpertHR – Employment Intelligence)

Jo Doonar

I’m one of the Pay and Benefits team, bringing over 10 years' editorial experience with me. I’ve worked largely on business titles, and have spent five years advising clients on employee and/or stakeholder communications.

Having worked with organisations including O2 on employee engagement strategies, I’m interested in staff motivators and how financial rewards compare to non-monetary benefits. I’m particularly interested in companies with leadership models that stand out from the crowd, and the effect when every employee has a stake in the business.

As deputy editor of Pay and Benefits I am responsible, with the editor, for overseeing the pay and reward content on XpertHR, ensuring we cover the many and varied priorities of the reward professional.

Outside work, I enjoy travel – a stint as a travel magazine editor means I’m always planning the next break away. I’m also a volunteer for a sustainability charity, helping out with social networking and e-marketing strategies.
