A particular interest is the gender-pay gap and its contributing factors – the inadequacies of the equal pay legislation and the tribunal system, and the overall position of the two sexes in the workforce. I’m also interested in the increase in individual employment rights over the past decade and its impact on HR, as well as the influence of the changed UK political scene on employment law and relations.

Outside work, my most recent interest is cycling, which I combine with running in an attempt to keep fit and go some way to countering my love of all things culinary. I belong to a reading group – a great way of stretching reading boundaries – and enjoy independent cinema. I also attempt to remain conversant with modern Greek – a remnant from three years’ living in the country in the 1990s.

I have day-to-day responsibility for the editorial management of the XpertHR service, and am also editor of IRS Employment Law Bulletin. Before joining XpertHR, I was an editor and then senior editor in the employment law and HR publishing centre at Croner, editing a variety of loose-leaf products including Croner's Employment Law and Discrimination Law manuals. I have an LLM in employment law in practice.
