I am interested in any employment law changes that have an impact on employers’ policies and procedures and keep up to date with case law on employment issues. The areas that I am particularly interested in are discrimination, family-friendly rights, and discipline and grievance procedures.

I am an employment law editor on XpertHR. My areas of responsibility include the policies and documents, case law stop press, and statutory rates services. I also work on the equal opportunities version of XpertHR and I am a consultant editor on Employers’ Law, a specialist magazine from the Personnel Today portfolio.

Outside work, I am a film enthusiast with an interest in world cinema (especially Japanese and Italian) and silent films (in particular silent comedy). I have also been a keen hill walker and mountaineer since my early teens. I follow Middlesbrough Football Club.

After obtaining a law degree and training to be a solicitor, I moved into publishing, initially with Butterworths. I joined XpertHR in 2001.
