I have been involved in the field of employment law in many guises from HR manager to employment law advisor and litigation consultant. I have recently joined XpertHR as an employment law editor and I look forward to contributing to the website.

I am interested in all areas of employment law and over the years I have seen how its impact on working life has continued to develop and expand. For example there are now more categories than ever before of discrimination that will be considered unlawful, from the rights of the pregnant employee to questions of faith and sexual orientation. All aspects of social and political life are reflected in the workplace and it is more important than ever for employers to keep up to date with the new developments.

I have a law degree and my early career was in the law before I moved to HR and obtained a masters degree in employment law as well as becoming a fellow of the CIPD.
