Basic pay rises for managers and professionals slowed to 4.6% as the early effects of the recession hit the UK economy, according to CELRE's 2009 National Management Salary Survey.
The report, published today, is based on data from 221 companies and 45,809 individuals, and is the 36th in an annual series of surveys on management and professional staff pay published by CELRE in association with the Chartered Management Institute.
This year's figures show the smallest rise in executive salaries for five years. Take home pay for managers and professionals across the country rose by 4.6% in the past 12 months, a drop from 6.7% at the same time last year.
