Call for evidence on closed recruitment practices in the public sector
Close date: 15 April 2016
The Government has launched a call for evidence seeking views on closed recruitment practices in the public sector. The call for evidence seeks to gather information on the prevalence of recruiting for jobs internally only, whether or not it is ever ineffectively or inappropriately used, and whether or not there is external pressure from organisations to do so. It also seeks views on a potential role for the Government in encouraging more open recruitment in the public sector, for example by requiring public sector employers to publish information on the level of internal-only recruitment and introducing a cap or ban on internal-only recruitment.
