Consultation on code of practice on language requirements for public-sector workers

The Government consults on a code of practice to help employers to meet their legal duty to "ensure that every public-sector worker operating in a customer facing role speaks fluent English". The legal duty will be introduced via the Immigration Bill. Employers covered include central and local government departments, NHS trusts and police forces.
