Consultation on draft code of practice on the equal pay aspects of the Equality Bill

Close date: 2 April 2010

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) consults on a draft statutory code of practice to support the equal pay provisions of the Equality Bill once it becomes law. The purpose of the code of practice is to explain the statutory provisions that provide for equality between men and women in pay and to apply the legal concepts to everyday work-related situations, to help people understand the steps that an employer should take to ensure that there are no unjustifiable pay inequalities. The consultation includes a questionnaire for respondents to identify any areas in the code of practice that have not accurately explained the new obligations and rights under the law.
