Consultation on employment law review

The Northern Ireland Executive consults on proposals to make significant changes to employment law. It seeks views on a range of changes under three main headings: early resolution of workplace disputes; efficient and effective employment tribunals; and better regulation measures. The proposals include: routing all potential tribunal claims to the Labour Relations Agency in the first instance; developing an early, neutral evaluation service that would give parties a more informed understanding of the potential outcome of a claim; extending the qualification period for making an unfair dismissal claim to two years; and amending collective redundancy consultation periods.
