Consultation on employment tribunal rules
Close date: 23 November 2012
The Government consults on proposals to revise employment tribunal rules, incorporating the recommendations made by Mr Justice Underhill, whose review into tribunal procedure was published on 11 July 2012. It aims to simplify procedural rules and make them easier to understand. Proposals include improving case management, for example through new rules on the procedure for preliminary hearings and withdrawing claims; new presidential guidance to help parties understand what to expect during hearings and ensure that cases are managed consistently; and a rule requiring tribunals to encourage alternative dispute resolution.
