Consultation on live, text-based reporting from court
Close date: 4 May 2011
The Lord Chief Justice consults on live, text-based forms of communication during court hearings. The consultation seeks views on: technological developments in reporting, which allow reports to be made from inside the court; the change in identity of those wishing to report; and maintaining the right to freedom of speech, the right to a fair trial, and fair and accurate reporting. Responses to the consultation will help to form guidance that will build on interim practice guidance issued by the Lord Chief Justice.
