Consultation on local authority health and safety enforcement code

Close date: 1 March 2013

The Health and Safety Executive consults on proposals for a "National local authority enforcement code", which has been developed to ensure that health and safety regulators take a more consistent and proportionate approach to enforcement of health and safety regulations. The code provides guidance to local authorities on targeted enforcement, by ensuring that inspections focus on workplaces or activities that pose the most serious risks, or where there is evidence of poor performance.
