Consultation on new law to protect whistleblowers when applying for NHS jobs
Close date: 12 May 2017
The Government consults on new legislation to protect whistleblowers in the NHS. The consultation seeks views on draft Regulations that will make it unlawful for an NHS employer to reject job applicants or treat them unfavourably when applying for NHS roles because it appears to the NHS employer that they have made a protected disclosure.
The consultation follows a recommendation made by Sir Robert Francis QC in the Freedom to speak up review report that the Government introduce protection for NHS whistleblowers.
