Consultation on payroll giving
Close date: 19 April 2013
The Government consults on increasing the scope of payroll giving, which allows employees to give tax-free donations to charity through their pay, by simplifying the scheme's administration. Its proposals include: sending employees an exit pack when they stop giving to a scheme; establishing standardised forms to allow donors to give more easily; reducing the processing time to make sure charities receive their donation faster; opening up the payroll-giving agencies market to competition from organisations that are not charities; and ensuring that payroll-giving agencies are transparent about the cost of processing donations.
