Consultation on proposals to limit postponements in the employment tribunal

Close date: 12 March 2015

The Government consults on its proposals to restrict postponements in the employment tribunal. It aims to amend employment tribunal procedural rules to make it harder for parties to request a postponement. Proposals include limiting the number of postponements that each party can request to two, introducing a deadline for applications of seven days before the hearing and obliging tribunals to consider making a costs award if a late request is granted and the late request results in the hearing being rescheduled.
