Close date: 14 May 2017

The Government consults on proposals to reform defined-benefit pension schemes. The consultation invites views on whether or not there is a case for reforming the schemes to improve the management and oversight of the risks pertaining to them. It sets out a range of options for improving the current pensions regime, in four broad areas:

  • funding and investment;
  • employer contributions and affordability;
  • member protection; and
  • consolidation of schemes.
