Consultation on technical changes to pensions auto-enrolment

The Government consults on draft regulations to further improve the pensions auto-enrolment process. It is considering technical changes that aim to simplify the auto-enrolment framework for employers, particularly for small and micro-businesses. Proposed changes relate to: introducing a simpler process for the redeclaration of compliance; making it easier for employers to bring their staging date forward; and further exceptions to the employer duties so that an employer does not have to auto-enrol company directors or partners in limited liability partnerships into a workplace pension in certain circumstances.
