Consultation on whistleblowing in the NHS

Close date: 11 January 2011

The Department of Health has launched a consultation on changes to the NHS constitution and its handbook, to ensure that appropriate support is given to employees who make a protected disclosure. It consults on inserting an expectation that employees will raise concerns as early as possible about safety, malpractice and wrongdoing, and a pledge to support all those who raise a concern. It also proposes highlighting the right to raise concerns without suffering a detriment.
