Consultation on Workers' Memorial Day

Close date: 19 October 2009

The Government consults on proposals for the official recognition of Workers' Memorial Day. The proposals aim to provide an opportunity for people to reflect on relatives, friends and colleagues who have been killed or suffered injury or ill-health through work and on the need for workplaces to be both healthy and safe going forward. Workers' Memorial Day has been informally recognised in the UK since 1992 and has become the focal point for a number of commemorative events.
