Employment law manual updates: 1 October 2015 changes
The Employment law manual has been updated to take into account changes to the law coming into force on 1 October 2015.
- Religion or belief discrimination: The exemption from the requirement to wear a safety helmet that applies to turban-wearing Sikhs, and the associated protection against unlawful indirect discrimination, have been extended.
- Discrimination remedies and penalties: Employment tribunals' powers to make wider recommendations are repealed.
- National minimum wage: New rates of the national minimum wage come into force.
- Pensions: Short-service refunds are abolished in relation to certain occupational pension schemes.
